An Introduction to my Disney World

Hello ladies and gentlemen, my name is Daryl and this is the first edition of my blog. In this blog, I am going to talk about my love of all things Disney, news from around the parks and resorts and news on previews and reviews of new and old Disney movies.

Now then where to begin…I guess we begin with my back story of my love for all things Disney. Ever since an early age, I can remember watching all the classic Disney movies. The first film I see as a kid was Beauty and the Beast which still to this day is one of my favourite films of all time. I was lucky to be growing up in a real purple patch of Disney films which only added to my love of Walts company. Aladdin, Lion King, Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast were all watched a lot as a young boy.

My first taste of a Disney park was Euro Disney in 1992/93 I can’t quite remember and to be honest I don’t remember too much of my trip to Paris. In 1998 I finally got my chance to head to Florida and to Walt Disney World and what a place it was too. I was completely entranced by the magic of the whole place. I have a lot more memories of this trip; the first time we entered the parks we went to magic kingdom there is nothing better than travelling across the ferry and seeing the castle for the very first time.

Over my teenage years even though my love for Disney didn’t disappear my interest in Disney as a company died down as I started to get more involved in sports and other interests I had. I eventually got to go back to Disney world in 2007. I was 18 at this point and finally got to experience more of the thrill rides for the first time not just at Disney but in all the parks in Orlando. My favourite still to this day has to be Expedition Everest from the ride itself to the whole theming of the queue line. It’s truly amazing and that is something Disney’s imaginers do so well. This was a trip I remember very fondly as we travelled with friends of ours that weren’t as big of Disney fans as me and my family were. The change in them from the first day to the last day was amazing, to see how much Walt Disney world had grown on them all.

In 2015 and at the age of 26 I went on my most recent holiday to my favourite place in the world with my long-term girlfriend Stephanie. This was by far my best trip to the happiest place on earth. Stephanie had never experienced any Disney park and she was incredibly excited to finally get there. The look on her face as we drove under the Disney sign and as we travelled across the ferry into Magic Kingdom is something I will never forget…the look of sheer joy on her face was amazing.

This time around I got to see a different side of Disney than I did as a kid. I got to enjoy all the aspects of the world this trip is where I got to learn a lot about Disney history and about a lot of the resorts.

Just after I returned to the UK I started to suffer from severe depression and had some real troubling time’s in my life. If it wasn’t for Stephanie I don’t think I would be here to write this blog today. At my lowest point, I started to listen to a couple of different Disney podcast and it came to be that when I was doing something Disney orientated I started to feel in a better place and I put a lot of getting better down to putting a lot of time into Disney based stuff.

I hope my first edition of a blog is ok and not too boring. I plan on writing a lot more about the parks and history of the parks and films along the way.

Thank you for reading and have an amazing day.
