Marvel Preview – 6/10 – 6/16

We are going to look at some great comics coming out from the red-brand of Disney. Thor returns in his new ongoing, as Deadpool starts killing for money again. Venom tries to keep it’s sales high and Vader chokes out the resistance. Come take a look.

Spotlight

Thor #1 – Aaron/Del Mundo/Ward

Odinson is back. Thor has regained his mantle, and his hammer, as Aaron’s epic Thor saga continues. This time, the artifacts or asgard are scattered around the Earth, and it’s going to take some learning some hard truths before Thor can reclaim them. He will need all the might he can muster if he is going to stop the unstoppable Juggernaut.

This is a great new jumping in point for readers new to Thor or comics in general. Yes, there is a bunch of things that happened in this run, but this is a new arc with a new artist. I trust Aaron to deliver a killer run here.

New – 6/10 – 6/16

Deadpool: Assassin #1 – Bunn/Bagley

Bringing Deadpool back to where he started, Cullen Bunn is joined by superstar artist Mark Bagley to get the Merc with a Mouth back to being a mercenary. Squaring off with the Assassins Guild down in New Orleans, he is gonna need every bit of his healing factor.

Venom #2 – Cates/Stegman

An ancient horror, enemy to both symbiote and human has awoken and influence over Venom. Trying to sever the ties between it and Eddie Brock. Rolling on with a great Venom storyline, Donny Cates and Ryan Stegman have the tools to make this a must read for months to come.

Darth Vader #17 – Soule/Camuncoli

Vader and his Inquistors finally confront the Jedi survivor in the crumbling ruins of Mon Cala The best Star Wars book, in my opinion, just keeps producing great content. Charles Soule has a great feel for the characters and universe while Giuseppe Camuncoli’s art is absolutely spectacular.
